Choosing which satellite imagery you use

John McC
Can I choose which satellite imagery I use to prepare a course? I'm looking at one area where the satellite imagery is fuzzy and out of date in comparison to Google Maps satellite imagery.

A related question is: if I can choose which imagery I use, can I also choose, say, winter over summer so I can see the ground detail better with no tree canopy in the way?

Apologies if these have already been answered.

John,

Do you mean in QuickStart? If so, no, there are no other options available. QuickStart is just a simple way to get started initially.

Or do you mean when you are creating a KML file... for CheckSites or for a Published Event?
- In this case you can use whatever tools and files you have from different sources
- The outcome just needs to be a KML file of the required format.

Let me know if I haven't answered your question.

Yes, it was QuickStart I was wondering about.

As you can see, I’m only starting to find my way around MapRun but it looks very promising.
