MapRun6 not beeping at controls on course

Hi Peter

I've had a few people mention that when using MapRun6 they get a beep at the start, but then nothing at controls around the rest of the course. I'd had a look at their settings, but nothing seemed to be amiss. And then the same happened to me today. I was out of the new "Kitcheners Ridge ACT Sept 2021 PXAC" that I just put up. Had beep at start, then nothing. I double checked setting after. Had definitely not selected the "No sound or vibration" option. I'll note that the beep with MapRun6 has always been softer & less clear than with MapRunF. So I'm mystified as to what is happening. I have MapRun6 6.4.2. Running on my LG Q60 Android phone with android 10. Any advice appreciated.

I note also that the option to change "Alert Sound" is locked on "Beep 1". Not sure why that is also.

Thanks for the feedback.

The only audio issue I am aware of is that for iOS users, when the phone screen blanks, runners will only receive the default iOS notification sound at controls (plus vibration). If MapRun6 is in the foreground, everyone should get a beep + notification + vibration.

We have a new version in testing (v6.5.x) that will give the beep as a notification both in the foreground and background (for both iOS and Android) + vibration.

To date, the only "Alert Sound" available has been "Beep 1". We now have 20 options in the version being tested.

So, there are changes coming... but let me know if you have further concerns in the meantime.

Hi Peter, thanks for the update

I was aware a new version was on the way, as I'd seen the option to add web links/docs to events when publishing them :-)

It was definitely neither beeping or vibrating - only way I knew I'd punched was to actually look at the screen. However given a new version is coming, I'll wait for that and see how it handles things. When is it expected out?
