ScoreB and temporary PINs?

John_Pickup
I've recently been trying to setup a ScoreB event (Odds and Evens) and, unless I'm mistaken, once a ScoreB format is selected (kml uploaded) the PIN switches to permanent and can't be changed.

The first few times I assumed I was doing something wrong or not noticing that it had been inadvertently changed, and so deleted the event and tried again, but I'm now convinced that the selection of ScoreB chnages the PIN to permanent and makes the radio buttons read-only. Is this true and is it intentional? (It seems more likely that this is a user error!)

Thanks.

John,

I can see events in ScoreB events in Results that had a temporary PIN set, and that PIN has now correctly expired.

For example: Tally Ho 01-04-2026 ScorePW60 PZ0601042026 ScoreB60. You can search for it by name in Results and see that the tracks are available.

Are you using a PZ code in the event name or are you using Settings?

As always, you've immediately identified the problem! The KML filename has a PZ suffix and that's driving the PIN setting. I'd not really looked at the filename and assumed it had exactly what the planner wanted.

As predicted - user error.

Thanks.

John,

Good detective work!

We kept supporting codes in filenames, even after we introduced a more comprehensive "Settings" system in MapRun6. This was for backwards compatibility.

With both approaches still active, we make sure that if a setting is set in the filename, it can't be unset silently in the background by "Settings". Otherwise what looked like a Score event could in fact be a Line event if the settings were set that way.(as an extreme example).
