"send event to Garmin watch" not working on maprun7

steve williams
I have just uninstalled maprun6 and installed maprun7. I have turned on watch mode and entered ID and logged into Garmin accounts and accepted permissions. However, when I download a course to the phone and click on "send event to Garmin watch" the event doesn't appear on the watch, but a note appears on the phone reading "Enter name details before going to the start".
Any ideas what I need to do to resolve?  Previously the event would transfer straight across to the watch and I could run the event fully from the watch leaving the phone at home. The watch is an FR55 with MaprunG v1.7.1 installed.

Cheers

Have you put your personal details into MapRun vers 7 (these don't carry across from MapRun6).

That is, tap "User Profile".

Let us know if you still have issues

Hi Peter

Yes, I put in personal details immediately after downloading maprun7.

However, I have just recharged watch and in doing so synced direct via Garmin Express on computer and this seems to have resolved issue. Not fully tested with an event as yet, but it all looks like it should work fine.

Thanks for your help

Steve,

OK - Good to hear of success.

It all seems a bit odd, as that message should only appear if the user details in the MapRun App on your phone are not valid.  That is, when the user taps "Go to Start/Send Event to Watch" we check that we know who the user is.

When you "Send Event to Watch" all that happens is that a copy of that event is saved to a folder on the MapRun server for the watch to retrieve at a later time. So, in theory, the state of the watch is not relevant.

Anyway, let us know if you have any further issues.

Peter
