Francis,

It seems that switching to a different "activity" in Garmin can reset the GPS settings. See this response from AI: https://www.perplexity.ai/search/my-garmin-watch-has-a-good-gps-4EvYVjySSSOl4IvHiN9hBA

I think most times the recovery will be quick, but I guess not always.

If this is causing problems, I'd recommend tapping 'start', some distance from the Start control location, as this will give the GPS time to settle down, in the time it takes you to get to the Start.

Is a Forerunner 970 version coming soon or should I hang onto my 965 for a bit?
Thanks!

Mark,

Version 1.8.7 of MapRunG is now available.

It supports the Forerunner 970.

Regards

Thanks Peter, I can confirm this is working ok.

Not a big deal obviously but, I think as with the 965, the screen isn't quite the right size for the display (ie, the top part of the P of Pace is cut off).
Functionally not a problem but just fyi.

Slightly more annoyingly, the touchscreen settings don't work properly (ie, the touchscreen is always turned on, even if turned off during the activity - ie if I toggle the settings it will display the message 'touchscreen off', but the touchscreen will still be on).
